Day 6
Local Time: 22:00
Weather: Humid, Raining
Maan was tired today, so Mark nipped down the road, got me and Janne a taxi and we headed off to the Trinoma Mall for some souvenir shopping. The weather was awful so going out to explore wasn´t on the cards. I could quite happily shop all holiday - there are an abundance of shopping malls and everything is so cheap. However, getting my hands on my money is a problem. For some reason I can't withdraw money from my HSBC account ...
Packing Extras
After a bit of a hunt, I've managed to pick up a handy ruck-sack come trolley-bag for the 'Jaunt. I was hesitant to pay anything exorbitant or buy anything too extravagant as you never know how well your bags are going to be treated on a long-haul flight, whether it be by baggage handlers or turbulence.
The Galleria in Hatfield is one of my favourite places to go shopping. Yes it's mostly labelled goods but it's cheap and bargains are usually extremely good. And let's face it, why would you pay £95 for a pair of jeans in the high street when you can get them for £20 at TK Maxx?
TK Maxx is where I started today. I got a light weight cagoule and a travel razor for under £20 all in. They usually have a pretty decent selection of luggage but unfortunately they didn't have what I was looking for today. I almost settled for a very nice Jeep ruck-sack but decided to wait and check out the Baggage Outlet a few stores down - which I'm glad I did.
For the excellent price of £39.99 I got a Member's London bag, and pretty cool it is too. The picture shown isn't the exact bag but it's pretty much how it looks and operates. As you can see you have the choice of using it as a ruck-sack or a trolley-type bag. Loads of space inside and a few handy pockets for bits and pieces. Oh, and I really should add, when I say that 'I' didn't want to buy anything extravagant and 'I' got it for an excellent price, well that's not true. The bag was an early Birthday present from my Aunty ... Thank You!!
